Baghdad -- Two car bombs killed at least 19 people in Baghdad today, including a blast that targeted a police station being used as temporary quarters for officers whose original station had been destroyed in a bomb blast.
Dozens of police officers were injured in the attack in the southwestern neighborhood of Bayaa, and cars and nearby buildings were severely damaged. Police said two cars were involved in the attack and blew up in quick succession.
The first got past a checkpoint and exploded in the parking lot just outside the building. The next one blew up near the checkpoint.
