Correction: Super Size Me film at Rochester Public Library Wed May 18

"Letter to Editor"

05/17/2005

For those of you who are planning to attend the showing of the Super Size Me film Wednesday May 18, this film will be shown at the Rochester Public Library Auditorium, NOT the John Marshall School auditorium as listed in my previous community events list.

Also, you can vote for the book for next years Rochester Reads program on the http://www.rochesterreads.org web page until May 20.

Wednesday - Sunday of this week is the Soldier’s Field Playground Project.

Film: Super Size Me for National Employee Health and Fitness Day
Wednesday May 18 Noon and 7:00PM
Rochester Public Library Auditoriom

In celebration of National Employee Health and Fitness Day, the library will be
providing two showings of the documentary Super Size Me. Film-maker Morgan
Spurlock embarks on a journey to find out if fast food is making Americans fat.
For 30 days he can’t eat or drink anything that isn’t on McDonald’s menu; he
must eat three square meals a day, he must eat everything on the menu at least
once and super size his meal if asked. Spurlock’s grueling diet spirals him into
a metamorphosis that will make you think twice about picking up another Big Mac.

Soldier’s Field Playground Project
May 18-22 Morning, Afternoon, evening shifts
Soldiers Field Park

Please
join other people in the community in building a new playground at
Soldier’s Field park! Both experienced and non-experienced builders are
needed as well as people to serve or provide food for the volunteers. We are
suggesting DFLers sign up for Friday afternoon, Friday evening, or Sunday
afternoon if you want to work with other DFLers but please sign up for other
times if you are interested. This is a great way to show we are interested
in the children of our community.
