ST. PAUL (4/27/06) - DFL Communications Director David Ruth today announced his resignation, effective in mid-May. “I’m looking to devote more of my attention to family matters and personal interests,” said Ruth, who is exploring a career opportunity that is not yet public. “During my tenure with the DFL Party, we have won special elections, held the Republicans accountable for their failed policies and promoted our positive DFL message statewide. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the DFL Party, and I look forward to watching them achieve all their goals in upcoming elections.”

Minnesota DFL Chair Brian Melendez praised Ruth for his professionalism and effectiveness. “David Ruth has been a tremendous asset to the DFL Party, a true professional who has helped deliver the Party’s message to the public,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Brian Melendez. “He has left us with a strong communications program. We’ll definitely miss him around the offices, especially his sense of humor. But family comes first. David will bring tremendous talent to whatever opportunity he pursues. We greatly appreciate his contributions to the Party, and wish him all the best in his future.”

Deputy Communications Director Jess McIntosh will serve as acting communications director while the job is posted.
