DeLay is out - the momentum has shifted
"Letter to Editor"04/05/2006
Dear Editor,
Tom DeLay, after vowing to fight to the end, is returning to Texas with his tail between his legs, and someone else will now represent the citizens of the 22nd Texas Congressional District. At the League of Conservation Voters, we ask that Rep. DeLay take care that the door does not hit him in the wallet on the way out.
As a career-long cheerleader for big energy polluters and the lead practitioner of a corrosive brand of politics that has slimed Washington, DC in recent years, Tom DeLay represents the dark side of public service. His forced retirement signals a new day for Americans who desire clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and a national landscape we will be proud to hand to the next generation. Time has expired on Tom DeLay. With your help, the League of Conservation Voters will continue our work to replace his ilk with environmentally conscious public servants.
This is OUR moment, OUR time. The momentum shift is being felt across the country, and your contributions will help us continue to build on that momentum as together in 2006, we sweep more Tom DeLays out and replace them with those who care about our country and our future.
Be a part of change. Be a part of something special. Be a part of the answer!
Sincerely,
Gene Karpinski
President
League of Conservation Voters
