I urge anyone interested in state government or in our state’s future to attend this presentation, if you are free the evening of Dec 5th.  Please note that the November Forecast upon which state government bases its income projections for the next year will just have come out from one of the speakers, our state’s economist. Tom Gillaspy, State Demographer and Tom Stinson, State Economist will present, “Economic And Demographic Change in Minnesota” on Monday, December 5, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.  Gillaspy and Stinson will speak at Kellogg Middle School Auditorium, 503 17th Street NE, Rochester.  The event is free and open to the public.

Gillaspy and Stinson aim to give citizens an understanding of the demographic and economic changes that Minnesota is undergoing, some estimates of what this means for the future, and the framework for some of the choices we face. 

This event is part of the “Coffee & Conversation...a community issues forum” sponsored by a partnership of community groups to promote citizen dialogue and engagement.  Sponsors include Rochester Public Schools Community Education, League of Women Voters Rochester, Rochester Area Council PTSA, Rochester Area Foundation, Rochester Community and Technical College, RNeighbors and University of Minnesota Rochester.
