COUNTY UNIT’S STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE DELEGATE/ALTERNATE

The state central committee delegate in your county unit may automatically be the county unit chair and associate chair if the county unit is allotted two votes or less to the DFL State Central Committee.  If your county unit is entitled to more than two votes to the state central committee, the county unit will elect at-large state central committee delegates.  An equal number of alternates will be elected in your county unit for each delegate.  In some county units the constitution prescribes that the alternates to the chair and associate chair to the state central committee be the secretary and treasurer of the county unit.

The state central committee delegate represents your county unit on the DFL State Central Committee. The state central committee is the governing body of the DFL party between conventions.  State central committee delegates and alternates are also representatives to their respective congressional district central committee.

-- The State Central Committee (SCC) usually meets quarterly at rotating locations throughout the state. The alternate serves a two year term between party conventions. We are allowed 6 delegates and 6 alternates, gender balanced. This election is to finish the business of the 2006 Olmsted County DFL Convention by the governing body between conventions, the Olmsted County DFL Central Committee.
