First C. D. Mascot, Tom Jackson, Facing Homelessness - Help Urgently Needed!!!

The donkey 1st CD DFLer's affectionately call "Tom Jackson" or "T.J"
in honor of party founders, Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, may
be facing homelessness if help does not arrive soon. T.J. is
getting on in years, "I am something of a collector's item, maybe
even an antique" he said with some pride. "I been part of a lot of
campaigns in the last 50-plus years and have some nicks and
scratches to show for it."

Lori Sellner, chairperson for the First is seeking a good foster
home for T.J.. "We are asking that someone T.J. a good loving DFL
home between fundraisers." The First CD recognizes that it would be
too expensive for any one family to support T.J. through the years
ahead and therefore is asking Democrats to provide a home between
annual fundraising dinners.

"To make sure the foster family can afford to cover the costs of
caring for T.J. we will pick his new foster family in an unusual
way" said Sellner. The choice of T.J.'s foster home will part of
the auction at the First CD's Living Green Dinner in Owatonna on the
27th.

"We know T.J.'s diet will not be cheap, he eats a lot of carrots and
apples, and I don't even want to think of the bill for his hay" said
1st CD Treasurer Debra Hogenson. "People attending the auction will
be able to place bids naming the amount of money they will
contribute toward my care", said T.J. "and they will name the person
they think should take me home."

"I have a few people in mind you I know would make great foster
parents, and I would be happy to contribute money toward T.J.'s care
at their home" said Hogenson. Asked if she might take T.J. home
with her Hogenson nervously rattled off a list reasons why it would
not work, "But I'll donate, my yes, I will bid on T.J. care at
someone else's home."
