PREPARING FOR ‘08
"Letter to Editor"10/02/2007
October 2007
Dear Friends,
Thanks to you we changed the political landscape by electing a Democratic Congressman as well as 4 Democratic legislators to represent Olmsted County in St. Paul in 2006, but we can’t be complacent. 2008 promises to be our largest political election year ever! We have to elect a President and a U. S. Senator to replace George Bush and Norm Coleman, re-elect Tim Walz, re-elect our State Representatives Tina Liebling, Andy Welti and Kim Norton, (whose races in 2006 were the state’s most targeted and expensive) and elect a DFL State Representative from District 29A.
Candidates and staff in 2006 marveled at how much help the Olmsted County DFL gave them, but that was possible only because we could afford to do so. We must have even more available for our incumbents and candidates to win in 2008. You can help by donating money, time, or talent.
Make a Contribution
As our party has grown, so has our need for more office space. Our office was too crowded in 2006. For success in 2008, we must have more office space to support our candidates, staff and volunteers. We need your financial support to rent that space and provide services and supplies for candidates, staff and volunteers.
Your contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more will make a difference and you may get some or all of it back. If you have not used the 2007 Political Contribution Refund program, see our website under Donations for details.
You can contribute by mail:

or
On line on our website: http://www.olmsteddfl.org
Offer your Time and Talent
We need you! Volunteers are essential to successful campaigns. Tell us what you want to do under Volunteer on our website. Visit our website: http://www.olmsteddfl.org to view photos of the Olmsted County DFL in action.
Investing in the Olmsted County DFL has paid off! In 2006 DFL candidates received 50% of the vote in the county, up from 34% in 2002. Informed voters elect DFL candidates! Together we raised $2,000 in 2002, $48,000 in 2004, and $76,000 in 2006 to support our year-round operations and successfully support our candidates. We need to raise $100,000 in 2008 to do the same.
The 2008 elections will be the most important in decades. Please help today.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Lynn Wilson

P.S. Republicans will try to win back their 2006 losses and hold on to Norm Coleman’s seat in 2008. Olmsted County will be central to their efforts. The Olmsted County DFL has to be strong to support Amy Klobuchar, Tim Walz, Ann Lynch, Tina Liebling, Kim Norton, and Andy Welti along with other DFL candidates. We need your help now to be ready for 2008.
