The Silent Auction at the May 4th Olmsted County Democratic Dinner --
An Evening of Celebration ... with ... Elected Officials and Friends
will feature nearly 50 fabulous and unique items and opportunities from
national and local politicians and celebrities.
We have had a great time collecting them and would like to share a
small preview of the treasures available:
*** A beautiful print of one of Senator Ted Kennedy's paintings of his
yacht, "Ted's Mya". Senator Kennedy will inscribe the purchased print.
Donated by Senator Ted Kennedy.
*** “Revolution from Within: A Book of Self-Esteem”, written by Gloria Steinem
America’s most influential, eloquent, and revered feminist. Ms. Steinem
autographed this book for our event. Donated by Gloria Steinem.
*** 4 tickets to Garrison Keillor's radio program "A Prairie Home
Companion" on June 1 at Lanesboro's Rhubarb Festival. Actress Sue Scott;
Tim Russell, the man of many voices; and sound-effects wizard Tom Keith
will be there along with the Guy's All-Star Shoe Band led by pianist Rich
Dworsky. Donated by Garrison Keillor.
*** "This Moment on Earth", a new book on the environment written by John
Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry and autographed by both John Kerry and
Teresa Heinz Kerry in support of our hard work and accomplishments.
Donated by Senator John Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry.
*** Autographed Mondale/Ferraro Campaign buttons, a red/white/blue star quilt
to display the buttons, balloons, and the 1984 Mondale Family cookbook.
Buttons/balloons donated by Vice President Walter Mondale. Quilt donated
by Diane Hellie.
*** An autographed Tom Cruise photo, Tom Cruise DVDs (Born on the Fourth
of July, Top Gun, Minority Report, A Few Good Men), and movie snacks.

*** "Democratic Kid" basket with many fun, educational activity books
which will teach a grade-school aged child about government and good
citizenship.
