National Night Out
Tuesday, August 3
Various locations
The goal of National Night Out is to strengthen neighborhood spirit by having neighbors get together. Whether it’s a picnic, potluck, or an ice cream social, it’s a great time to get to know who lives in your neighborhood. During the evening the Mayor, members of the City Council, and McGruff the Crime Dog visit as many of the locations across Rochester as they can.
Register your party or get more information at coptalklive.com. If you don't have a party in your neighborhood, see http://www.rneighbors.org for a list of neighborhood associations sponsoring National Night Out parties.
Sidewalk Chalk Art Extravaganza
RNeighbors partners with Community Education’s Summer of Service (SOS) program and the Crime Prevention Department in Chalk the Block, an opportunity for kids to contribute to the National Night Out festivities. At 10 different sites throughout Rochester neighborhoods we’ll be giving kids an opportunity to spruce up the pavement at NNO party sites with colorful sidewalk chalk. See http://www.rneighbors.org for additional information.
