Schwinghammer Resigns DFL Post

Statement from Chair Brian Melendez and Communications Director Kelly Schwinghammer
St. Paul, MN (May 16, 2008) Minnesota DFL Party Communications Director Kelly Schwinghammer announced today that she has resigned her position at the DFL Party effective June 8.
Schwinghammer has accepted a position as National Communications Director for the Blue Green Alliance, a partnership between the Sierra Club and the United Steelworkers, to help run an 11-state campaign to promote awareness of the issues of global warming and opportunities for building a green economy for the nation’s future.
“As a native to this state and its unique politics, it has been an honor to work at the state DFL party,” said Schwinghammer. “Minnesota is truly a wonderful place and it has been a pleasure to be part of the great DFL tradition over the past year.”
“We want to thank Kelly for her dedication to the party and for the great work she has done over the past year,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Brian Melendez. “She will be missed, but we are happy to see her take her skills and experience to a national level. We wish her luck in her future endeavors.”
