MINNEAPOLIS - Tarryl Clark took the DFL primary in Minnesota’s 6th congressional district Tuesday night, clearing the way for a showdown with Rep. Michele Bachmann this November.

Clark, a state senator, hasn't had any opposition since physician Maureen Reed dropped out of the race in June. Reed’s name remained on the ballot since she dropped out after the cutoff date.

Bachmann is seeking her third consecutive term in the 6th district, which weaves its way through all or most of Anoka, Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, Washington and Wright counties.

The Bachmann-Clark race will be one of the nation's most expensive House races.
