TOMORROW: Klobuchar, Other Minnesota Women Leaders to Launch Women For Obama

Senator Amy Klobuchar, Rep. Betty McCollum, Attorney General Lori Swanson, State Auditor Rebecca Otto, Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, state Sen. Tarryl Clark, and other Minnesota women leaders will host Minnesota Women for Obama Kick Off

ST. PAUL – U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and other Minnesota women leaders will host a kick-off celebration for Women for Obama this Wednesday August 20. Events will take place in Minneapolis, Duluth and Rochester.

Women for Obama is an opportunity to bring together women from all over the state of Minnesota to unite in support for Senator Barack Obama. Obama’s Minnesota Campaign for Change has an aggressive and far reaching female outreach organization that will be sharing Senator Obama’s plans and beliefs on issues of great importance to women with voters from now through November 4. This event will highlight Senator Obama’s commitment to ensuring the economic security of every woman in Minnesota and across this country.

“The difference between the candidates on women’s issues could not be more clear,” Senator Amy Klobuchar said. “From his desire to overturn Roe v. Wade, to his opposition to equal pay legislation, John McCain continually takes the wrong side on issues important to women. With the launch of ‘Women for Obama’ we will begin to make these differences crystal clear to women across Minnesota.”
