"U.S. HOUSE"06/20/2008
Says construction of crosswind runway will help enhance safety and be a catalyst for economic development.
(Owatonna, MN) – Today, Congressman Walz announced more than $2.2 million in federal grants for the Owatonna Airport. The funds are being provided to construct a crosswind runway at the Owatonna Degner Regional Airport. This runway will enhance safety by providing landings in all wind conditions.
“Regional airports in southern Minnesota are a vital economic development tool,” said Walz. “The Degner Airport is no exception; it is an important asset to the Owatonna community. For far too long, crosswinds have hindered development and made for dangerous conditions. This construction will significantly increase the safety and utilization of the airport in all wind conditions.”
