A NEW group is on the attack… Frontiers of Freedom?

04/28/2008

April 28, 2008

Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you know that more right-wing money is being poured into southern Minnesota.

A group calling themselves “Frontiers of Freedom” is calling voters in southern Minnesota, TODAY!

The group is telling voters to urge me to support retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies that participated in the President’s illegal wiretapping program. They want me to cave in to the President’s demands.

Despite the pressure, I refuse to give these phone companies a free pass. I won’t let President Bush decide when he can break the law.

The National Republicans have turned on the spigot and right-wing money is pouring into the First Congressional District. I need your help to turn it off!

Stand with me today… contribute $10, $25, $75 or $100 right now and help get our positive message out.

On Saturday I accepted the First District endorsement from the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. During my acceptance speech, I reminded them that we will choose to win this election using something other than divisive rhetoric and wedge issues. We will focus on coming together as a community and solving problems facing our country.

Despite our positive message, the National Republicans will continue their divisive and negative attacks to try to scare voters and win elections. They keep trying to use those tactics on me.

They have attacked me with television ads…

They have attacked me with radio commercials…

Today, they are calling voters and attacking me on the phone…

I will not cave on this issue, but they will continue to attack. Please stand with me today and help me pull the plug on their efforts by pouring our positive message across southern Minnesota!

Sincerely,

Congressman Tim Walz

P.S. As a 24 year member of the National Guard, I know first hand what it takes to keep this country safe. As a member of Congress, I take the responsibility of protecting citizens seriously.

P.S.S. This is just the beginning. Over the next seven months, we expect over a million dollars in misleading ads to be run in Southern Minnesota. We need your help today to ensure our message is heard by the voters in Southern Minnesota.
