Al Franken for Senate Rally in St. Louis Park This Saturday

02/27/2007

MINNEAPOLIS (02.26.07) - After a well-received tour of Greater Minnesota, featuring stops in Nashwauk, Duluth, Rochester, Mankato, and the Moorhead area, Minnesota native Al Franken, who declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate on Feb. 14, will return to his boyhood home of St. Louis Park on Saturday, March 3 for a rally at St. Louis Park Junior High School.

Franken attended the school from seventh through ninth grades when it was known as Westwood Junior High School. Saturday, he'll return to speak to a crowd that could reach 1,000 people. The event is free, on-the-record, and open to the public. A media availability will be held directly following.

The event comes at the tail end of a tour of Minnesota that drew overflow crowds at every stop to hear Franken's stances on universal health care, renewable energy, veterans' affairs, and the war in Iraq:
