Amy Klobachur: People, Polls, and Progress

I wanted to dash off a quick note to you. Thanks to your support over the past few months—whether through volunteering, contributing or lending us some good advice, our campaign has had the momentum in this race from the beginning.

Amy is the most hard-working, passionate and dedicated candidate I’ve ever seen. She really cares about doing what is right and she always tells us that we aren’t going to run this campaign on polls. She isn’t the kind of candidate—and she won’t be the kind of Senator—who puts her finger up in the air to see which way the wind is blowing.

But I think you should know that an independently conducted poll released this week (conducted by Zogby and the Wall Street Journal) shows Amy with a six percentage point lead over Republican Mark Kennedy—49% to 43%, twice the lead of any other Democratic challenger.

Our campaign has the momentum, but we know we can only win in November by building the best grassroots network possible.

As a result of so many of your efforts, we gain incredible momentum every day. We’ve covered nearly 100 parades, and Amy has visited with Minnesotans at over 200 house parties, meet-ups and gatherings in every corner of the state. Amy’s plain talk of fighting for Minnesota values has called people to action, and her ideas to meet the challenges confronting our country have motivated them to get involved. Every day it becomes clearer to Amy that the one-party rule in Washington is just not working and that we’ve got to put the people of Minnesota’s concerns first.
