Artic Victory - Thank You

Dear DFL Members and Suppoters,

Today, the U.S. Senate rejected of a provision that would have opened the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling, representing the triumph of democracy over greed.

Tens of thousands of Americans like you took the time to call, write or e-mail their elected representatives to express their opposition, while many of them—like you and others—gave generously to support LCV’s lobbying activities on Capitol Hill. For this and all your support you have our profound thanks.

To use a holiday sports metaphor: It was Fourth and One, we held them, and now we’re back on offense!

Doubtless, 2006 will bring more challenges. Just as assured, the League of Conservation Voters will work every day to remind our elected public servants in Washington that there are consequences to their actions, and the first consequence is accounting for those actions. We ask you to continue your support as we move into a New Year, and help us continue to our mission of protecting, defending and enhancing our environment.
