Article: U.S. Failed To Control Iraq Oil

09/24/2005

It is a little odd that the neo-cons want to destroy everything that FDR put in place except this obsolete policy about insuring a good flow of oil.  Military power might have been the answer when you have conventional armies fighting conventional war.  This was the case until the end of WWII with a couple of exceptions.  Sence WWII, large conventional forces have not been very successful against highly motivated guerrilla (insurgents) forces.

I agree in most part with the author, except he over played America’s role in the Kuwaiti war.  He made it out as if it was an America venture.  The truth is that it was a coalition that was headed by the U.S. military and the conscientious that held the collation together was obedience to the UN resolution.  The resolution called for the collation to expel the Iraqi forces from the territory of Kuwait.
