• About 1,500 homes were affected, with about 300 of those destroyed, the state has estimated.
• Seven southeastern Minnesota counties have been declared federal disaster areas: Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Steele, Wabasha and Winona.
• The Federal Emergency Management Agency said it has provided grants totaling $1.4 million so far to affected residents.
• The U.S. Department of Labor authorized a $3 million emergency grant for a displaced worker program.

• Estimates of property damage in the counties exceeds $67 million.
• Homeowners who lack adequate insurance may receive up to $28,000 from FEMA for home repairs or rental assistance, medical assistance or other aid.
• Business owners can seek similar aid in the form of grants or low-interest loans through the Small Business Administration.
35W BRIDGE COLLAPSE
• 140,000 people used the bridge daily.
• Economic losses due to the collapse are estimated at $113,000 a day or about $17 million in 2007 and $43 million in 2008. The effects are concentrated in the Twin Cities area and translate to about 0.01 percent of the state's economy on an annual basis.
• Cost of a new bridge strong enough to carry light-rail trains is estimated at $220 million to $270 million
• MNDOT is expected to receive $250 million from federal emergency funds.
