ATTENTION!

Pres Bush issued an Executive Order on July 17 that allows seizure of property and assets of any person or organization that is seen as blocking his Iraq policies. That means that Cindy Sheehan, MoveOn.org, Common Dreams, Representatives of the Progressive Caucus (Lynn Woolsey, Barbara Lee etc.), SE MN Alliance of Peacemakers, you and I can be the targets of this Executive Order. 1. Pres Bush is in violation of

Amendment One - freedom Press, Speech, and Assembly
Amendment Four - unlawful search and seizure
Amendment Five - right to Due Process

2. Pres Bush assumes this power without the consultation and approval of either Congress or the courts.

IMPEACHMENT IS IMPERATIVE

Pres Bush and his administration have pledged to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the U.S. They have violated that oath a number of times and have even stated that these laws do not apply to them. If these violations are permitted, future executives will assume the same rights.

Congress also pledges to uphold the Constitution. Impeachment is the remedy for oath violations by the executive branch. Congressional decision NOT to invoke impeachment is itself a violation of law.

President Bush has challenged Congress by vetoing everything that holds him and his administration responsible. Congress has two courses of action to avoid the veto – refuse funding, and proceed with impeachment.


WHAT YOU CAN DO

Tell your friends that it is urgent to Impeach NOW to stop further crimes and abuses of the Executive Branch. Torture, illegal spying, contempt of Congress, deception, secrecy, and wanton disregard for the rule of law are their legacy for the future.

Write a Letter to the Editor

Contact Rep Tim Walz and ask him to co-sponsor H Res 333, Articles of Impeachment against VP Cheney, and any future resolutions for impeachment
Contact Senators Amy Klobuchar and Norm Coleman asking them to support Impeachment.
