Call for our kids
10/16/2007
On Thursday, Congress will decide whether to override Bush's veto of kids' health care. Our best chance to win is to focus pressure on a few key Republican members of Congress. Your representative isn't one of the top targets, but you can make a big difference by calling MoveOn members who do live in target districts and asking them to call Congress. Can you call for 20 minutes tonight?

Dear MoveOn member,
This Thursday, Congress will vote on whether to override President Bush's veto of children's health care. To win, we only need 15 more Republicans to switch sides.
We're putting as much pressure as possible on a few key Republican members of Congress. Your representative isn't one of them, but you can still make a big difference by calling MoveOn members who do live in those districts and asking them to call Congress.
Can you help protect kids by spending 20 minutes tonight calling fellow MoveOn members in target districts? We've got a new web page that makes it easy.
Click here when you're ready to make some calls:

When we tried this before, we tripled the number of phone calls to our targets in Congress! And people who called other MoveOn members said it was really fun.
We're emailing MoveOn members in target districts today to let them know how important their phone call is, but this is such a crucial moment, we want to make sure they hear. You can call anytime, but evening is usually the best time to reach folks.
Imagine if Congress reverses Bush's veto for the first time in his presidency. Millions of uninsured children will be able to see a doctor when they're sick. And if Congress successfully stands up to Bush, he'll have a harder time blocking other progressive legislation in the future.
When you click the link below, you'll get the name and phone number of a MoveOn member who lives in one of our target districts. We'll give you a script so you know what to say, including the phone number of the person's member of Congress, if they're interested in making a call.
States are already making plans to cut children off health insurance because this bill is being delayed, according to today's Washington Post.1 We need to go all-out to win.
Please give your fellow MoveOn members a ring to let them know their phone call to Congress is especially crucial to override Bush's veto of our children's health care.
