Can You Help?

11/13/2006

November 13, 2006

Dear Fellow Minnesotan:

Attorney General Mike Hatch has always been there for the people of Minnesota, and now I ask if you can be there for him one more time.

Mike has been a great public servant.  In thousands of actions both big and small over his eight years as Attorney General, Mike has always stood strong for the people of Minnesota.  Mike stood up for patients being harassed by hospital debt collectors because they were too poor to pay their hospital bills.  He fought HMOs and insurance companies that denied coverage for the mentally ill in their darkest hour.  And he took on the cause of the financially distressed when utility companies turned their heat off the day before Christmas in the freezing cold.  For Mike, these cases were never about who he was standing up to; rather, they were always about who he was standing up for--ordinary people who just needed a break.  We all owe Mike a debt of gratitude for his public service.

Mike had to divert resources in the closing days of his campaign to fend off harsh and false negative attacks.  Some of these attacks were financed by some of the interest groups Mike opposed as Attorney General.  This means that Mike now has a modest campaign debt.  I ask that you help Mike out one last time by making an online donation to his campaign to help him retire this debt.

I appreciate your support and all your hard work this election year.

Sincerely,

Lori Swanson
