CD1: Need help for special elections

Below is info on the special elections in Minnesota.  If you’re interested in taking a group of people up to help in one of these districts, contact Betsy O’Berry - her email is below.

The endorsed candidate in SD 43 (Minnetonka/Plymouth area) is Terri Bonoff, a terrific candidate with lots of community ties.  She is up and running, raising money and bringing in anyone she can to help.  Her endorsement opponent, Tony Wagner, who was also a terrific candidate, has indicated that he will abide by the endorsement and help Terri.  The Republicans have settled on Plymouth Mayor Joy Johnson as their candidate.  She will be tough to beat but this race is winnable if we all pitch in.

The endorsed candidate in SD 19 (Wright County) is John Deitering, also an excellent candidate.  He is a long-time local businessman who has helped other DFL candidates in the past.  At the SD 19 endorsing convention, he said, “We
need to stand up and fight for our values.” “We have to stop being like the Republicans.”

His opponent for the endorsement was Ross Bennett, who has been the SD 19 DFL senate candidate in the past.  Ross is a former Minge staffer from the more conservative side of the party.  He has already begun to put his lawnsigns up and has indicated that he will run in the primary.

I believe that the Republicans in SD 19 will also have a primary although I do
not know their candidates.
