Coleman’s Empty Promises on Iraq

09/25/2007

New Survey USA Poll Shows Coleman under 50, Klobuchar at 62-Percent Approval Rating

St. Paul, MN (September 25, 2007) A new Survey USA poll today showed that only 46 percent of Minnesotans approve of Norm Coleman’s job performance in the Senate, while 45 percent disapprove. More than one year before the election, Senator Coleman’s approval ratings wallow consistently below 50 percent.

In contrast, DFL Senator Amy Klobuchar scored the approval rating of 62 percent of Minnesotans in September.

“Minnesotans won’t be fooled by Senator Coleman again,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Brian Melendez. “The people of this state approve of Senator Klobuchar’s common-sense approach to the issues that face us, including her outspoken support for bringing our troops home from Iraq.”

“But Minnesotans know that Senator Coleman, full of empty words and promises, has shown time and time again that when it comes to choosing between the interests of Minnesotans and his loyalty to President Bush, Coleman puts Bush ahead of Minnesotans at every opportunity,” continued Melendez.
