DFL Party Calls on Representative Bachmann to Return $1,000 Contribution from Indicted Republican Donor Alan FabianSt. Paul, MN (August 15, 2007) The Minnesota DFL Party today called on U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann (MN-6) to return a $1,000 contribution to her campaign made last year by Alan Fabian, a major national Republican donor indicted last week by a federal grand jury.
Fabian, the CEO of Baltimore-based Centre for Management and Technology, was indicted on 23 counts of bankruptcy fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice and perjury. “We Minnesotans value hard work, accountability and fair play, and Mr. Fabian’s alleged conduct flies in the face of those values,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Brian Melendez. “The Sixth District’s voters won’t stand for a politician who makes money off of fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice and perjury. Representative Bachmann should promptly return the tainted money.”
