DFL PRECINCT CAUCUSES—TUESDAY
03/06/2006
Dear DFL,
The DFL Precinct Caucuses on Tuesday signal the beginning of the 2006 election cycle. The Olmsted County DFL Central Committee encourages you to attend your caucus and join in on the discussion and decisions that will ultimately lead to DFL victories in November.
On Tuesday, precinct caucus registration begins at 6 p.m. and the caucuses convene at 7 p.m.
You may have received our DFL Fundraising/Caucus letter in February with a label on the front of the mailing envelope indicating your ward/township, precinct and caucus location; information you will need Tuesday evening. Our web site is another source for this information at: http://www.olmsteddfl.org
There are four important objectives to be accomplished at the caucus:
1. Resolutions will be offered that will influence the platform of the DFL Party.
2. Election of Precinct Chair and Associate Chairs that comprise the leadership of the Olmsted County DFL Central Committee and our organizational structure.
3. The statewide preference ballot for U.S. Senate, governor, attorney general, secretary of state and state auditor. Results of the ballot to be made public later in the evening.
4. Election of delegates and alternates to the Olmsted County DFL county convention where officers of the party are
elected and Senate District 29 and 30 endorsing conventions where local State Senate and House DFL candidates are endorsed.
This year Olmsted County promises to be the most targeted political area of the state. We made history in 2004 with the election of Representatives Tina Liebling and Andy Welti. Their road to the State House began on caucus night 2004. Lets continue this momentum on Tuesday determined to re-elect and elect Democrats in November.
Please encourage your family, friends and co-workers to attend the DFL caucuses also.
Thank you,
Lynn Wilson
