DFLer Rebecca Otto out fund-raises incumbent opponent

SAINT PAUL – DFL-endorsed State Auditor candidate has raised more money and has over four times the cash on hand than her incumbent Republican opponent, state campaign finance board reports filed yesterday show.

Otto raised $81,270.59 and spent $20,995.32 over the period according to her report, leaving her with a war chest of $67,061.82 as of the August 21 cut-off date, while Anderson raised $73,487.88 and spent $63,964.88, leaving her with $15,125.58 on hand.

This is the second reporting period in which Otto has out-fundraised the incumbent.  In 2005, Otto raised $28,104 to Anderson’s $22,675.
