Dollar Lower; Gold Up

LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Thursday. Gold prices rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.5668, up from $1.5664 late Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates compared with late Wednesday:
_102.24 Japanese yen, down from 103.09
_1.0080 Swiss francs, down from 1.0099
_1.0077 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0172
The British pound was quoted at $1.9960, up from $1.9885.
Gold traded in London at $905.10 bid per troy ounce at midmorning, up from $889.70 on Wednesday.
In Zurich, gold traded at $903.00 bid per troy ounce, up from $888.10.
Silver traded in London at $17.45 bid per troy ounce, up from $17.24.
