Don’t Leave Your Money on the Table
12/27/2007
Dear Friends,
Next Tuesday, it's a New Year and you can get your 2008 Political Contribution Refund. If you gave in 2007: Thank You! We hope that you'll give again next week, too, when your contribution is eligible for a 2008 refund.
But if you haven't yet jumpstarted your 2007 refund yet, then you're leaving money on the table, money that could help us elect Democrats in 2008. We need your help by midnight Monday or that money's gone.
And it's simple: when you give $50 to the DFL Party ($100 per married couple), the State of Minnesota will give it right back to you, not just this year, but every year. But if you wait, your chance to support DFL candidates for free in 2007 will pass.
Paul, the , Republicans aren't holding back. Every year, Republicans get more in refunds than we do, $1 million more last year, and we can't afford to let them beat us again.
Don't leave that money sitting on the table. Close the year out by showing that we're ready to stand up for our values and fight for our future in 2008!
Sincerely,
Brian Melendez
Minnesota DFL Chair
Basic PCR Facts
The Minnesota Political Contribution Refund program will refund up to $50 ($100 per couple). Don't believe it? Click here for details.
Last year, half as many more Republicans than DFLers claimed refunds, and the average refund was 50% higher. Help close the gap and level the playing field!
The most efficient, effective political contribution you can make is to the DFL Party, which works for all endorsed candidates, from the top of the ballot to the bottom.
Contributions to the Presidential, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House races are not eligible. But a contribution to the DFL Party, which supports those candidates, is eligible.
You can claim a refund only once a year. If you have already claimed your refund for 2007: Thank you! And please consider another contribution on January 1, 2008.
Early money works longer! The sooner you give, the sooner your contribution helps our candidates.
