Former Senate Majority Leader John Hottinger will be suspended from practicing law for at least 18 months as a penalty for misappropriating funds from a client account, the state Supreme Court has ruled.
Hottinger, 61, a DFLer who represented the Mankato-St. Peter area, served 16 years in the Legislature through the end of 2006, when he did not seek reelection.
