General Wes Clark Endorses Tim Walz Citing “Common Sense Solutions for Minnesotans”

Clark says, “Minnesota Needs a Leader Like Tim Walz”

September 21, 2006. Little Rock, AR.—Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, General Wesley Clark today endorsed the candidacy of Tim Walz for Congress in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District.

“Today American families face many difficult challenges at home and abroad. We face continued threats to national security, and we must prepare for a changing global economy that demands that America train and educate our people to continue to be competitive in today’s global economy. Tim Walz has the leadership and experience to battle the toughest issues both at home and abroad.

“As a retired Command Sergeant Major, serving our country in Operation Enduring Freedom, Tim Walz has the post-9/11 perspective to be a thoughtful and effective leader in Congress. As a teacher and entrepreneur, Tim Walz knows what it takes to create positive and impressive change in this country.

“The people of Minnesota deserve to have Tim Walz in Congress. Southern Minnesota can cast a vote for him with pride, knowing that he will serve them as honorably as he has served his country.

General Wesley K. Clark is a retired four-star general and served as the Supreme Allied Commander of Europe where he commanded NATO forces and directed Operation Allied Force in the Balkans, putting a stop to the ethnic cleansing by the Serbs. More recently, he was drafted in 2003 to seek the Democratic nomination for President. General Clark remains engaged in public policy and private business development.
