Goode Launches New GOP Wedge Issue

I hope that my voice is just one of thousands that tell Virginia GOP Rep. Virgil Goode, to park it. He of course has a new Republican wedge issue – prejudice against Islam.
Sounds like a good appeal to the racists and bigots across our land, perhaps they are his constituents and he is representing them. If so, they are to be pitied; and if not, then they need to tell him to clam up.
This has arisen from the choice of the use of a Koran to be used in the swearing in of Minnesota Representative Keith Elliot. Last time we checked God was one God and not two and last time we checked the Bible was used by Muslims, Christians and Jews. We are all on the same page when it comes to the frame of reference for God’s historical word. Elliot wants a Bible included along with the Koran in his ceremony and so is showing he takes his oath of office seriously.
People like Goode are dangerous for they would remove freedom of religion from America and establish a State religion in its place. Then factions would enter into conflict and very quickly we’d look like Iraq does today.
The people of his District are ill served by this guy and they need to tell him so.
Goode himself will be sworn to uphold our Constitution and Bill of Rights yet he is already violating that oath by advocating against freedom of religion. I don't think that he should be allowed to take the oath of office because he is starting off his term with a lie. When Goode takes the oath and swears on a Bible to uphold our Constitution and Bill of Rights, it will be a sham.
