Guess Who?

Guess Who Done It?
Paul Munnis
Even as the economy grew, American incomes stagnated last year and the poverty rate increased, the Census Bureau reported yesterday. It was the first time on record that household incomes failed to increase for five straight years. Guess who has been president for the last five years?
The portion of Americans without health insurance remained roughly steady at 16 percent, the bureau said. A smaller percentage of people were covered by their employers, but two big government programs, Medicaid and military insurance, grew. Guess who is dedicated to destroying Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, while increasing active duty military benefits even as he slashes veteran’s benefits for the maimed and wounded?
The census’s annual report card on the nation’s economic well-being showed that a four-year-old expansion had still not done much to benefit many households. Median pretax income, $44,389, was at its lowest point since 1997, after inflation. Guess who we have to thank for that poor performance?
While you’re at it, note that inflation is on the rise again big time. You only have to look at your car rear fender where the gas tank is located to find the real cause of inflation. Guess who is responsible for an energy strategy and an energy plan for the U.S.?
If you answered G.W. Bush to these questions then you have that right and before he declares the problems to be caused by Democrats let us remind you of who has had control of the U.S. government for the last five years. It wasn’t Democrats folks, it was W. who has blown it. Dubya himself was at the helm.
We will not repeat the litany of lost jobs, layoffs, off-shoring of jobs, and the failure to create new jobs. You know it only too well. You also know how dicey the American economy is and how this hurricane to end all storms is not helping things for America. At least Bush didn’t cause the hurricane.
It is time for new leadership for America. This present crop of GOP elephants are infected with failureitis, a propensity to screw everything up.
Fix this by ditching the current GOP members of Congress. Bush couldn’t buy gas for his airplane without their approval and consent.
