Help Us Send a Message to Bush & Pawlenty
06/08/2007
Dear Friends,
Since last November's election, we've made great strides in Minnesota, and the political landscape is shifting in the DFL Party's favor. But much work remains ahead, especially with the roadblocks that Governor Pawlenty has thrown up in the way of progress. We must keep fighting for better public education; affordable, accessible, universal health care; an end to American involvement in the Iraqi civil war; and safe roads, systematic repairs, and thoughtfully planned construction that relieves congestion and gridlock. Despite the overwhelming message of change that voters sent last fall, President Bush and Governor Pawlenty still ignore the people's will and push their own misguided agendas. Time and again, they bow to corporate interests, like Halliburton; or national ambition, like running for Vice President.
Last year, you and I and millions of Minnesotans voted overwhelmingly for change to get Minnesota and America back on a path to peace and prosperity. We voted for education, health care, jobs, transportation, clean air and water, and an end to the Iraq war. We voted to put people first, not lobbyists or corporations, and to end the Republicans' "business as usual" culture of corruption, cronyism, and misrule. Now we must finish what we started. But we need your help today. (Click here to donate)
If every DFLer contributes today, we can build now in 2007 so that we are fully ready in 2008. A contribution today of $50, $100, $250, $500, or whatever you can afford will let us take our message to all Minnesotans and ensure that we are fully ready in 2008. (Click here to donate)
Sincerely,
Brian Melendez
Chair
Minnesota DFL Party
P.S. Our efforts have reached a critical stage: can we sustain our momentum through 2008? We Democrats are the voice of change, and we need the critical resources that will let us deliver that message to the public. (Click here to donate)
P.P.S. Don't forget, if you haven't yet participated in the Political Contribution Refund program, the State of Minnesota will refund the first $50 of your contribution ($100 for a couple) within six weeks after you send in your receipt. This program is a free way that you can easily support your Minnesota DFL Party and its candidates.
