How much renewable, and when?

The energy bill passed by the House on Monday would require Minnesota utilities to produce or obtain the following percentages of electricity from renewable sources:

All utilities, except Xcel Energy:

• 12 percent by 2012

• 17 percent by 2016

• 20 percent by 2020

• 25 percent by 2025

Xcel:

• 15 percent by 2010

• 18 percent by 2012

• 25 percent by 2016

• 30 percent by 2020
