GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip AP) - Israel’s air force fired a missile Friday at a group of Palestinian militants firing rockets at Israeli targets, the Israeli army said.

Palestinian witnesses reported a car had been partially destroyed in an Israeli attack. Two people were wounded in the missile strike in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun.

The army said it identified the militants in a car. A helicopter fired missiles at the car, and weapons in the vehicle appeared to cause a massive explosion, the army said.

On Thursday Israeli forces killed five Palestinians in the largest West Bank military operation since Israel’s pullout from the Gaza Strip last summer. The dead included a top militant who said just a day earlier that he would never be caught.
