Dear DFL Member and Supporter,

Every few generations there becomes a need to have a bold, new agenda that refocuses and reinvents government as we know it. I believe Minnesota’s government has been overrun with politics. Ideas and innovation have been blocked out by partisan pledges and personal ambitions. Our campaign is about putting principle ahead of politics.

I am committed to listening to the ideas of all Minnesotans and restoring bold, new ideas to our state – ideas that will move Minnesota forward and encourage opportunity for every man, woman and child in America, regardless of the circumstances they are born into.

We have a proud tradition in our state of electing independent thinkers to represent us – leaders who don’t tow the line of any one group, but who think independently and are honest and committed to all the people they serve. I will not pander to the special interests who use their power to divide and to manipulate us into becoming isolated groups of single-issue voters. My only pledge as Minnesota’s governor will be to the people of our state. I will put people first, and you will always know where I stand.

I have been a builder in Minnesota for over a decade, and I didn’t succeed by doing it alone. I have worked with community leaders to collect thousands of school supplies for Minnesota children, to create thousands of good-paying jobs, to bring people together, and to build people up. I believe Minnesotans want change, and they want a leader who can offer new ideas and a fresh approach.
