Key section cut from car-buyer’s-rights bill

The state House of Representatives stripped a key provision from a proposed car buyer's bill of rights on Tuesday, saying that a two-day return policy on used cars would open the door to fraud and other mischief-making by those bent on abusing the law.

After opposing the return policy by a two-to-one ratio, House members gave broad approval to the stripped-down version of the bill with a 103-to-27 vote
