Kiscaden: Coffee & Conversation

09/27/2006

I wanted to alert you to the an upcoming community Coffee & Conversation
event focusing on Transportation being held on Saturday September 30.

Here are the details:

SUBJECT:  Roads to the Future:  Commuters, Potholes, and Congestion

DATE:  Saturday, September 30, 2006

TIME:  8 - 10:30 A.M.

PLACE:  Heintz Center, Room HB117 (Use the H Entrance Door)

AUDIENCE:  This forum is free and open to the public.  This is an
opportunity to be part of the democratic process and to share views on
issues facing our state and the Rochester Community.

Roads to the Future
Commuters, Potholes, and Congestion

“Minnesota’s Transportation Challenge,” a video narrated by Charlie
Boone and produced by the Itasca Project and several local government
and transportation groups, presents information on our transportation
infrastructure * what we have, what we need, and what it costs.

Olmsted County’s highway engineer, Mike Sheehan, will bring these
issues home with local examples.  He will also review the language of
the upcoming ballot issue constitutionally dedicating the current motor
vehicle sales tax to transportation.

Enjoy a cup of Dunn Bros. coffee and talk to your neighbors about
issues that affect us all.  Elected officials are invited to attend to
listen to your views on this timely and important topic.

Co-sponsors:  This community issues forum is sponsored by a partnership
of community groups to promote citizen dialogue and engagement:
Rochester Community Education, League of Women Voters of Rochester,
RNeighbors, Rochester Area Council PTSA, Rochester Area Foundation,
Rochester Community & Technical College, University of Minnesota
Rochester, Winona State University Rochester.
