Dear Fellow Minnesotan:
As Chief Deputy Attorneys General under Attorney General Mike Hatch, we hope you will support Lori Swanson for Attorney General. We also hope you will make an online contribution to Lori’s campaign.
As Solicitor General, Lori has been in charge of all lawsuits on behalf of Attorney General Hatch. She has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the people of Minnesota. Her accomplishments include:
• An agreement with all 125 Minnesota hospitals that they will not charge the uninsured more than the insured. (In many cases, they previously were charging double the amount.)
• The establishment of a mental health court which reviews, within 24 hours, all denials of coverage by HMOs.
• The reconnection of natural gas for 2,500 homes shut off by Centerpoint Energy in subzero weather.
• Antitrust actions against pharmaceutical companies that were caught price fixing on drugs.
• Stopping nursing homes from admitting sex offenders who were referred by Governor Pawlenty’s Department of Corrections.
• Stopping assisted living centers that fail to care for senior citizens.
• Stopping predatory lenders who rip off homeowners.
• Reforming automobile dealer practices on warranty and credit sales.
• Stopping banks from selling your financial data.
• Auditing HMOs and exposing lavish expenditures and wasted money.
Lori Swanson is extraordinarily talented. She was appointed by Alan Greenspan to the Consumer Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Board, a committee of which she now is Chair. She is recognized by her peers as one of the most hard working and productive attorneys in the state.
Lori will be a tireless advocate for seniors, veterans, consumers, and patients. She will take on banks, insurers and HMOs when they fail to follow the law. Please visit Lori’s website at http://www.swansonforattorneygeneral.com and make an online donation today . Time before the election is short, and Lori needs your help now.
In short, Attorney General, Lori will continue the great traditions of advocacy embraced by Minnesota’s past Attorneys General.
Sincerely,
Al Gilbert
