Thanks to your work, we are closer than ever to passing a strong mental health parity bill that carries the late Senator Paul Wellstone's name. Every year since his death, members of Congress have promised to pass this legislation in his honor. And every year, obstruction by leaders in the House and Senate got in the way of common sense bipartisan legislation that ends discrimination against people with mental illness.

2007 is the year that this can change. Passage of a strong parity law is within reach, but this session of Congress will end in just 2 weeks. If a comprehensive parity bill can't be passed before then, we risk losing it in election-year deadlock.
