March 19 - Peace Maker Action in Rochester

JOIN OTHER PEACEMAKERS for the “Stop War-Making; Start Peace-Making” Rally on Saturday, March 19, to observe the second anniversary of the Iraq war. 

1:30pm - Demonstration at Broadway and Second St SW Bring signs that reflect convictions about bringing the troops home, the military draft, the human and financial costs of war, an exit strategy from Iraq, a department of peace, raising consciousness of torture being done in our names, etc.

1:45pm - Music at Peace Plaza with Don McManimon if weather permits;

2:00pm – Program at Peace Plaza with chants, poetry and reflections. 

2:30pm – Coffee and cider at Rochester Public Library Auditorium, and

3:00pm - Video, “Control Room,” at RPL Auditorium which views war on Iraq through Al-Jazeera’s lenses 6 weeks before, during, and after the U.S invasion of Iraq.  You are invited to bring a treat to share.

Come and bring a friend to be in solidarity with citizens the world over who are commemorating this sad event in U.S. history by pledging to work together to end war and its shameful suffering.  We hope to have media present to help us carry the message.
