First lady Mary Pawlenty has a new job. She will join Gilbert Mediation Center as a mediator and arbitrator of civil disputes.
Jim Gilbert, a former associate justice on the Minnesota Supreme Court, established the center. It helps people resolve their disputes outside the judicial system rather than in court.
Pawlenty was a district court judge for 12 years. She resigned from the bench last February, then worked at the National Arbitration Forum, a private dispute resolution firm. But she left that job after only a month, saying it wasn't the right fit for her.
