Concerned Minnesotans Protest Priorities and the Cost of Corruption in Washington

Maplewood, MN – On the day of the President’s visit to Minnesota, concerned Minnesotans gather in a protest of his misplaced priorities.

From tax cuts for the rich to his healthcare plan which would be a boon to the special interests, President Bush laid out a domestic agenda on Tuesday night which would put the special interests ahead of regular folks.  Americans United, the national campaign group which defeated the President’s Social Security privatization plan, has galvanized Minnesotans to speak out against Bush’s misplaced priorities.  Protesters will address the cost of corruption in Washington and the misplaced priorities of the Bush Administration and his allies in Congress – including last year’s failed effort to privatize Social Security.  What is expected to be hundreds of protesters will meet outside the Holiday Inn on 2201 Burns Ave and lead a march to the northeast corner of I 94 and McKnight in close proximity to the 3M company where President Bush will be.
