MN Budget deal? It’s a question mark

The DFL-led Minnesota Senate and House began a forced march through five big budget bills on Wednesday, while the public war of words with Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty grew sharper and the potential for an overall budget deal appeared uncertain.

At about 12:30 a.m. today, House Minority Leader Marty Seifert, R-Marshall, emerged from the governor's office after several hours of private negotiations with Pawlenty, DFL leaders and another top Republican legislator.

"We've progressed," he said. "There's not a lot of details, but I'm optimistic."
