MN House set to debate health reform, abortion, more

Representatives tangled over abortion Friday as the House moved toward a vote on funding state health and human services--the sector that accounts for the biggest chunk of state spending except for K-12 education.

An amendment to the $9.9-billion health and human services funding bill that would have prohibited funding for state health programs to be used for abortions was narrowly defeated, 68 to 61.
