MORE REPUBLICAN PARTISANS TO CLAIM KENNEDY IS INDEPENDENT
08/29/2006
ST. PAUL (8/29/06) – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Congressman Mark Kennedy brings two more national Republican superstars to Minnesota today to tout Kennedy’s alleged “independence.” Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and New York City Republican Rudy Giuliani campaigned for Kennedy today.
“We welcome this parade of partisan Republican politicians campaigning on Congressman Kennedy’s behalf,” Minnesota DFL Chair Brian Melendez said. “By bringing in Republicans to proclaim his independence, Congressman Kennedy is showcasing his inside-the-Beltway mentality and his hypocrisy. His lengthy time in Congress has clearly eliminated whatever Northern Minnesota common-sense mentality he ever had.”
Kennedy has also benefited from campaign appearances by Republicans George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell, Dennis Hastert and John Thune.
