Mr. Decker Is Not A Very Realistic Republican

01/13/2006

A Rochester school coach has turned aspirant to fill the GOP post being vacated by Rep. Fran Bradley, R, Rochester, and he seems not very well tuned to MN politics.

Today he appeared on KTTC TV and he spoke into the camera stating:

“I will be running as a Republican but will be independent in my representation of the District and not necessarily follow the Party line.”

Ha, that’s a good one and he needs to have lunch with Sheila Kiscaden who will wise him up right quick like.

When you do not follow the GOP Party line then you are kicked out of the GOP as “Not Republican Enough.” The GOP Majority Party Leader Dick, Day, R, Owatonna, is there to make darn sure of it.

That is exactly what happened to Sheila Kiscaden and it is why people in MN are not going to vote for the GOP to represent them in the State legislature. It is also why the GOP is walking into a perfect storm come this 2006 election period. People are electing representatives to government and not just automaton votes for the GOP Leadership Party Line. If we wanted that we could get it cheaper via e-Mail.

Simply put: “You are unlikely to be represented by your GOP representative since they will be be coopted by the Republican Party and then made to vote as the Party leaders want them to vote. Period.”

Thus you and your needs come after that. Not very good representation in our opinion.

Mr. Decker would be better off running as a Democrat or an Independent if he seeks to represent the people of his District. Of course if he wants to run as a Party hack, the GOP will welcome him with open arms.

The alternative is to vote for Kim Norton who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to say so.
