OFFICIAL CONVENTION NOTICE
First Congressional District DFL Delegate/Alternate:
Congratulations on your election to the First Congressional District DFL Convention! The 2006 convention will be held in Mankato. This will serve as your official and only notice of the convention.

Saturday, April 29
Centennial Student Union Ballroom, MSU - Mankato
Mankato, Minnesota
Registration begins – 8:30 am Call to Order – 10:00 am
Lunch will be available for purchase at the Convention from MSU dining services.
The Convention Registration Fee will be $10.
This fee is necessary to cover all the costs related to the convention. All Delegates & Alternates are encouraged to pay this fee if able, however inability to pay the fee will not disqualify anyone from participating.

Call to order – 9:30 am
All committees will meet at this time. If you were selected as a delegate or alternate to the Nominations, Credentials, Endorsements, Constitution, or Rules Committee, please be present to represent your county.
SCREENING FOR DISTRICT PARTY OFFICE & STATE COMMITTEE/COMMISSION
The Nominations Committee will be screening people who are interested in serving as District Party Officer or as a member of a State Committee or Commission. You must screen with this committee in order to run for election for any of the following positions. Screening will begin at 10:00 am at the Pre-Convention Nominations Committee Meeting on Saturday, April 22. If you cannot screen with the committee at this time, you must contact Lori Sellner (507-227-4004) to make alternate arrangements.
First Congressional District positions (16 total) are:
- District Chair
- District Secretary
- District Associate Chair
- District Treasurer
- District Affirmative Action Officer
- 11 District Directors
One man and one woman will be elected as delegates, and one man & one woman will be elected as alternates to State Convention Committees and State Commissions (24 total positions):
- Platform & Issues Commission
- Nominations Committee
- Affirmative Action Commission
- Rules Committee
- Constitution & Bylaws Commission
- Credentials Committee
State Convention Committees will meet on May 20-21 in Rochester. The State Convention will be held June 9 – 11 in Rochester.
